Call for West Sound Poets

You are invited to submit poems for ARS POETICA 2024
Our 11th Annual Juried Competition – Where Poetry Meets Art

All jury-selected poems will be offered to artists from the sponsoring galleries and other local venues to be visually responded to in any medium. The resulting artworks, along with the poems they interpret, will then be displayed in local galleries and venues during the months of April, May, and June 2024.

POETRY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Eligibility: Open to residents of Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson counties, Gig Harbor, Clallum, and Key Peninsula.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Submit up to 3 poems: any subject/any style. DO NOT put your name on poem(s).
Poems may not exceed 26 lines in length, including the title and spaces between stanzas.
Fee: $15.00 for up to 3 poems. Fees will not be refunded.
Previously published poems O.K. with citation (not included in line count).
Format: 12 pt, Times Roman. Flush left preferred, but not required.
Submit in MS Word or a word processing software that can be opened in MS Word.
Poems in PDF format will not be accepted but will be returned to sender for proper formatting up to the deadline date and time.

​Galleries/venues will each organize a month-long display of poems and created artworks, plus a poetry reading in April, May, or June (dates TBD), when poets will read their poems and artists will discuss their artworks.
